Chapter One: Introduction

Television has long been a critical medium for disseminating information and creating awareness about developmental initiatives, including vocational training programs. In Ankpa Local Government Area, Kogi State, television serves as a platform to promote skill acquisition and entrepreneurship, which are vital for addressing unemployment and fostering economic growth. Vocational training programs broadcast through television reach diverse audiences, using visual demonstrations to enhance understanding and inspire participation. Recent studies have shown that television programs focusing on vocational skills significantly impact enrollment in training initiatives, particularly in regions with high unemployment rates (Ameh & Obaje, 2023; Musa & Adewale, 2024).
